First thing's first...
You'll want to click the ![[image]](http://img56.exs.cx/img56/403/profile9.jpg) link in the main menu to access your profile, click modify profile, and change your password to something that you can easily recall. You may also want to change your name if you wanted it to include spaces or special characters. Here also you'll find many other settings you may want to play around with.
What is that below my username?
As your body count increases in horror hollow, so does your Insanity Meter. The meter slowly fills and changes color as you spent more time in horror hollow responding to various topics or making your own, which increase the aforementioned body count. You may have also noticed a custom text option in your profile, which can be anything you like and appears below your avatar.
How do I get an avatar and signature image?
You may set these two items at any time in your profile. For an avatar, you may choose one from the base gallery or link to your own image. Images must be no larger than 100x100 pixels in size, and try to keep the file size down to avoid slowing the scrolling of the board. Image signatures must be no more than 500 pixels wide. To place an image in your signature, use the Code: tags in the signature section of your profile, and paste the image URL in between the tags. There is unfortunately no way to upload avatars or signatures to Horror Hollow, you MUST link to them. You may have noticed however, that an Imageshack upload tool appears at the bottom of the forum, so you can easily upload images from your computer and copy the links into your profile.
What is Spirit?
Residents may bless or curse each other for various reasons which are completely up to the user. The higher the number, the more blessed you are and the safer you will be in the dangerous world of Horror Hollow.
Where do I check private messages?
You may click the orange text link underneath the welcome table, which will tell you when you have new private messages. You may also access your pms through the info center at the top of the main page.
